(TASE: ELAL, Hebrew: אל על נתיבי אויר לישראל בע״מ trading as El Al (Hebrew: אל על, "Upwards", "To the Skies" or "Skywards", stylized as ELעלALאל; Arabic: إل-عال), is the flag carrier of Israel. Since its inaugural flight from Geneva to Tel Aviv in September 1948, the airline has grown to serve over 50 destinations, operating scheduled domestic and international services and cargo flights within Israel, and to Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Africa, and the Far East, from its main base in Ben Gurion Airport. El Al is the only commercial airline to equip its planes with missile defense systems to protect its planes against surface-to-air missiles, and is considered one of the world's most secure airlines, thanks to its stringent security procedures, both on the ground and on board its aircraft. Although it has been the target of many attempted hijackings and terror attacks, only one El Al flight has ever been hijacked; that incident did not result in any fatalities. Boeing 787 (from Wikipedia): The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, focused on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 from All Nippon Airways (ANA), targeting a 2008 introduction. On July 8, 2007, the prototype was rolled out without major systems and experienced multiple delays until its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. Type certification was received in August 2011 and the first 787-8 was delivered in September 2011 before entering commercial service on October 26, 2011, with ANA. At launch, Boeing targeted 20% less fuel burn than replaced aircraft like the Boeing 767, carrying 200 to 300 passengers on point-to-point routes up to 8,500 nmi (16,000 km), a shift from hub-and-spoke travel. The twinjet is powered by General Electric GEnx or Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 high-bypass turbofans. It is the first airliner with an airframe primarily made of composite materials and makes extensive use of electrical systems. Externally, it is recognizable by its four-window cockpit, raked wingtips, and noise-reducing chevrons on its engine nacelles. Real-life Lolita Express.
A fawning review of an airline that discriminates against Palestinians and doesn't allow them on board. Very disappointing Dan
Lol their Matmid club and the cards they offer with the crazy expensive cash to points ratio is unbelievable , they think they are a private jet or something🤣
Near east, not middle...
Damm, even when they travel thru ally nations, they have to employ these precautions. It just raises the question of why a tiny nation is so contradicted?
EL AL 1862 Amsterdam event (1992)
El Al also flies to London Luton Airport
XpsGP8KIfls&t=11m53s 11:53 Delta One on 900neo out of Boston is definitely better
This is really confusing because he made a video a while ago and said that I will never fly Saudia and royal Brunei due to human rights issues
You were lucky.. after a smallish lunch on SAS Business, I asked if , may I have a seconds.. 'That's for us crew'' blurted the Skanda-hooligan steward.
I love your honest re view on different airlines companies 🙏♥️
The catering was exactly similar to what josh had from Dubai to tel aviv
As it turns out, the El Al 787 has slightly different seats than United. It is equipped with the Recaro CL6790. The products are very similar and I like both seats!
I apologize for this rant, but that menu said the salmon was cooked to 75°C that's 167°F! 😱 Salmon should never be cooked to anything above 145°F (125-130°F is my personal preference). But I've seen their salmon before, and this now makes sense 🤢. Okay, rant over!
This was so funny to see, because I always avoid flying El Al (in economy): their prices are never competitive, and their service generally sucks- if I’m going to be cramped in a plane for a bunch of hours the least the cabin crew can do is be friendly. 🙃
I think with Israel 🇮🇱 Airlines,,,,it’s the necessity to maintain a visible presence.
Never fly with them, trust me and their so called security just pisses off passengers.
The Israelis aren’t as direct as they used to be. Frequent traveling changed the culture…
The airline is usually outrageously expensive and then the “average” you mentioned becomes painful.
I tend to avoid them, when I can.
In the nineties, you'd think that El Al was horrible, because they trated you like a terrorist. Then it became common.
