In real life the robot wasn't a police robot, it was one used in a nuclear reactor to refuel the reactor. But because of its design, its guidance circuitry was under the body of the robot. This would not be a problem in its regular operation inside a nuclear power plant but on the roof of the exploded plant most of the debris was radioactive and that radiation ate through the robot's exposed conrol circuitry and made it inoperable. So unfortunately it did not work long and had to be abandoned.

I love how calm Legasov is, he's somewhere between "I told you" and "Boris is acting like how i feel about this bs from the beginning" and just chills, making peace with the world as he knows they are both slowly dying

Scherbinas arc in the series was the best. Imagine devoting your life to a Party, and then when you lay down your life to clean up their mistake, they’re too busy making themselves look good to make your sacrifice worthwhile.
