About Gulf Air (from Wikipedia): Gulf Air (Arabic: طيران الخليج Ṭayarān al-Khalīj) is the state-owned airline and the flag carrier of Bahrain was made in 1950 by British Pilot Freddie Bosworth as Gulf Aviation. Headquartered in Muharraq, the airline operates scheduled flights to 52 destinations in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Indian sub-continent and the Far East. Its main hub is Bahrain International Airport. In which London Heathrow is the most traveled place for Gulf Air. Gulf Air currently serves all its destinations with a combination of wide and narrow body jets of Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321neo and the Boeing 787-9 also known as the "dreamliner". Gulf Air is the sponsor of the Bahrain Grand Prix and Bahrain International Airshow, where some of its fleet of aircraft sport liveries of the event. Gulf Air has been certified with the highest 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating, becoming one of just sixteen airlines in the world to currently achieve this top recognition and the third airline in the Middle East to gain the 5-Star COVID-19 Safety Rating. It was formerly a multinational airline owned by Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Oman, and Qatar. In 2002, Qatar became the first nation to leave the Gulf Air consortium, followed by Abu Dhabi in 2006 and finally Oman in 2007, leaving the airline completely Bahrain-based, so they can make their own airlines: Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Oman Air respectively. About the 787 (from Wikipedia): The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, focused on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 from All Nippon Airways (ANA), targeting a 2008 introduction. On July 8, 2007, the prototype was rolled out without major systems and experienced multiple delays until its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. Type certification was received in August 2011 and the first 787-8 was delivered in September 2011 before entering commercial service on October 26, 2011, with ANA. Your so lucky to have your luggages safe after you have a connecting flight with them.. for my experience of my loss luggages this airline is such a disappointment.. it’s worst..
how much did they pay you to give a good review,? its a really bad airline
I had bad service on GulfAir. Paid for an aisle seat in the exit with extra legroom and some guy asked if I could switch with his uncle on the other side of the plane, but he had a middle seat so I said no (I was willing to accommodate him if he had an aisle seat). Then this guy told a GulfAir employee that I wasn't willing to switch the seat that I paid for and the GulfAir employee laughed at me as if I was being difficult. Pretty shocking coming from the US where this would never happen. Will never fly them again.
Just a correction….Bahrain international airport isn’t in Manama it’s in Muhharaq
Gulf Air is one of the Worst Middle Eastern Airlines also knows Step up of Spirit Airlines of United States
I hope you try Kuwait Airways! It's great. And by far the best legroom and comfortable cabin in a narrow body. They are also bringing new aircrafts to their fleet. Kuwait is a country that is known for its rich financial reserves, but also a country that remains a unexplored GCC (Gulf ) country.
Gorgeoussss! 🤣Love it
Did anyone realize that there was a kid watching encanto in the seat in front?
Great review. One of the reasons the airline provides this type of service regardless of flight length is because of its rich history. They have been around since the 1950's, flying back then was a complete luxurious and grand event. This airline reminds me of Pam Am. I am glad they have been able to sustain themselves for so long and didn't become bankrupt.
Gulf air is most unrelaibale carrier. they have lost my baggage with no help/counter on Heathrow airport. I will never ever travel with Gulf air.
SS36bAYUqtg&t=7m13s 7:13 You know Dan,even they didn't gives you a whole bottle of drinks, you can try to ask for the whole.
As mnetioned before a great review!
I just arrived from FRA via BAH to BKK in Falcon Gold. Had a great experience although BAH-BKK was delayed by 11 hours. Still I was provided with a hotel room in BAH. Overall 4 flights in 2 weeks - all very ok! Greetings Frank
It is funny that I saw another reviewer, reviewing the same airline with 2 seperate reviews. Basically, it does not sell it to me, to be honest. Although I am not a frequent flyer but it is important for me who and how much and what I am paying for.
Those private huge seats look incredible, its like a private cave!
After one has applied for a substantial amount of credit cards (i have about 12 including a few black or 'Infinite' ones, thanks to me for having great credit), the options get scarcer and scarcer. How do you keep raking up enough miles to get flights once you've already got the credit cards and can no longer get the huge welcome point bonuses?
Gorgeous uhhhh
Horsegirl made me LOL😂
I call BS. Nothing about Gulf Air is “luxury”. 🙄🙄
I lived in the Middle East for 13 years (mostly the nineties), during which Gulf Air was considered a sub-bar choice and one to avoid if possible. It was an older, more-established carrier like EgyptAir and MEA. I remember thinking at the time (Emirates and Qatar were beginning to surge) that Gulf Air would need to raise their game considerably if they were going to compete in the emerging Middle Eastern market. Watching your video, it appears that the airline has indeed raised their game. It's good to know that this is possible, and that there is hope for other mediocre airlines to move into the upper levels of customer service.
